About Shahwar
Shahwar is a licensed psychotherapist with over eight years of experience supporting individuals with a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges. She holds a BA in Psychology from Skidmore College in New York and an MSc in Mental Health: Psychological Therapies from Queen Mary University of London.
Her therapeutic approach blends psychodynamic therapy, cognitive-behavioral techniques, and mindfulness-based practices, offering a whole-person, strengths-based path to healing and growth.
Shahwar has worked in both clinical and therapeutic settings. As a teacher and therapist at the Oasis School of Autism in Lahore, Pakistan, and within the UK’s National Health Service (NHS) as part of a Mental Health Home Treatment Team, she supported individuals with a wide range of emotional and developmental challenges, deepening her commitment to inclusive and responsive care. Over time, she transitioned to focus exclusively on psychotherapy, drawn to its depth and transformative potential. Since then, she has supported individual clients in working through cycles of distress related to anxiety, depression, trauma, attachment issues, relationship challenges, grief and loss, major life transitions, and career dissatisfaction. Shahwar also helps clients navigate more subtle yet deeply unsettling experiences, such as feeling stuck, unfulfilled, or disconnected from oneself.
After completing her Yoga Teacher Training in Barcelona and teaching in studios across the city, Shahwar became deeply attuned to the mind-body connection. Over time, she developed an integrative approach that honors both - recognizing that true healing happens when mind and body move in alignment.
